Senior Corporate Communications Specialist - Media Relations

Part-time, 24 Hours/Week8a.m. - 1:30p.m.Remote (applicant must reside in OH or PA)Summary:The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist builds, manages, and maintains positive relationships with corporate supporters, as well as hospital auxiliaries.Responsibilities:Builds, manages, and maintains positive relationships with corporate supporters, as well as hospital auxiliaries.Oversees the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing program to support the fundraising efforts of the Foundation, as part of the Hospital’s strategic plan.Responsible for interactive PR and marketing activities for the Foundation to increase online fundraising.Manages Foundation Marketing efforts and resources, including related budgets, PR Specialist and agencies.Functions as an integral member of the Marketing/PR department in developing, implementing and evaluating strategies for communicating with targeted audiences to achieve organizational goals.Counsels departments and project teams on specific initiatives and projects, identifying the best communications vehicles to deliver their messages most effectively. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives.Participates in social media outlets on behalf of Akron Children’s.Stays abreast of PR/communications trends and practices for communications by participating in continuing education programs and professional organizations and reading current literature.Other duties as required.Other information:Technical ExpertiseExperience in professional public relations is required.Experience in emerging internet technologies is required.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.Experience in healthcare is preferred.Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Social media tools is required.Education and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations or related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred.Certification: None.Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.Years of experience supervising: None.Part TimeFTE: 0.600000
