Vermeer Heavy Equip Mechanic/Tech

Vermeer All Roads in Roanoke, VA is GROWING! If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy working with heavy equipment and are ready for a great opportunity, we have the job for you! Use your mechanical abilities to diagnose and repair Vermeer machinery and components. Competitive hourly rate & production bonuses available and a sign on bonus up to $5000 for qualified candidates

Responsibilities:

  1. Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer Equipment as directed by the branch service manager.
  2. Diagnose equipment malfunctions. Hydraulics, electrical & hydrostatic experience required. 
  3. Recognize and suggest appropriate repairs to the service manager.
  4. Ability to weld effectively
  5. Keep accurate and detailed records of all repairs preformed. (using CDK Global)
  6. Create estimates for repair costs within work orders.
  7. Communicate with the factory for technical assistance.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands   

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 50 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 50 lbs.
