Summary
The Crew Leave of Absence Specialist I is responsible for the daily administration of the company's Leave of Absences (LOA) for crew members (i.e., pilots/flight attendants) including, but not limited to Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), bereavement, jury duty, military duty, personal leaves, and state mandated leaves. The Specialist I will administer leaves in accordance with company policy and collective bargaining agreements while ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.

Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Education Details: Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience.
Years of Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of LOA, crew scheduling or airline industry experience supporting crew members.
•Previous airline experience.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skill.
•Multi-tasking and self organization capabilities within tight timelines.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and follow up.
• Understanding of general HR practices and processes.
• Basic proficiency in various programs including MS Office Suite along with an aptitude to learn HRIS and other systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to handle numerous projects at one time and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills.
• Willingness to become a subject matter expert regarding all LOA issues.
Preferred Requirements
• Understanding of Allegiant crew scheduling practices and processes.
• Working knowledge of data analysis processes and procedures.
• Experience working in unionized environment.
Job Duties
• Respond to all questions and requests for LOA and direct Team Members to available resources, policies and procedures.
• Verify accuracy of LOA data in Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
• Research and resolve issues with the leave tracking process and timely notifications to Team Members.
• Maintain monthly metric reporting on crew member LOA.
• Monitor and assist Team Members as LOA ends and Team Members return to work.
• Facilitate communication with employees and managers.
• Respond to inquiries from management and People Services regarding LOA claims.
• Establish and maintain close working relationships and coordinate information sharing with functional groups such as Employee Relations, Crew Payroll, Inflight, and Flight Operations, including but not limited to Training and Records and Qualifications.
• Receive and distribute LOA reports to the appropriate departments (Inflight & Flight Operations).
• Assist with monthly metric reporting on crew LOAs.
• Communicate return to work with Flight Operations, Inflight, & Records and Qualifications.
• Identify, communicate, and implement LOA process improvements.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate resources for assistance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
