ADDAMS Analyst

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of hole making and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.

Allied is currently looking for an individual to support the activities of the Addams Project Engineers to design, implement and maintain an automated quoting through manufacturing system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific Duties:

  • Support the development activities of the Addams Project Engineers
  • Use the techniques defined by the Addams Project Engineer to develop automation solutions for engineering and manufacturing activities
  • Develop models using CAD/CAM software to minimize the time required to quote, design, draft, program and manufacture a quality part.
  • Write custom program applications to perform repetitive tasks, minimize users’ time, and create an enterprise-wide link of information.
  • Create documentation for all standards, models and applications developed by the group.
  • Implement the Addams Project Engineer’s training program and train the users on the functionality of the application.
  • Develop/Create/Update baseline test items and procedures for each project.

Principle Challenges:

  • To produce reliable systems utilizing the development strategy as defined by the Addams Project Engineer
  • Finding ways to work around a software or programming limitation so that the application can more effectively meet the needs of the Corporation.
  • Through training and documentation, assist individuals outside of the group to utilize the applications created by the group to improve their job performance
  • Development the Engineering and Project Management skills needed to become an Addams Project Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a related course of study
  • Experience with writing custom software applications through the use of the .NET Framework
  • Ability to maintain custom software applications through the use of ANSI C, C++ or Java
  • Experience with the development and management of a relational database such as Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with the development of interactive web-based applications through the use of ASP.NET, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Experience with writing custom software applications through the use of ANSI C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, or Java
  • An understanding of the techniques used to develop CNC programs through the use of CAM and post processing software.
  • Experience with a 3-dimensional CAD software package.
  • The determination to overcome many obstacles in order to get an acceptable solution.
  • A good understanding of the processes of standard design and drafting techniques.
  • Must possess good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to take and follow instructions as given by the Addams Project Engineers
  • Must work well independently as well as cooperatively with others
  • Must be able to function in a fast paced work environment.
