The Role:
We are seeking a driven and dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. The BDR will play a critical role in driving the growth of Alternative Payments by identifying and creating new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients, and contributing to the overall sales strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology and payment solutions. This role reports to the Director of Sales.
Candidates should be located in GTA or Vancouver. This position is mostly remote but requires candidates to come into the Toronto office 2-3 days per quarter to meet with the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients, develop new business opportunities through cold outreach (calls, emails, social media), and qualify leads to build a strong sales pipeline.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at prospective client organizations.
Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of Alternative Payments’ and the Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry.
Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for reaching sales targets and expanding the customer base.
Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to support lead-generation campaigns and provide feedback on new ideas and trends that will elevate the teams’ success.
What you will Bring (Requirements)
1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably within the MSP, Payments or fintech industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients through effective communication and active listening.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
History of maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions
Nice to have:
Startup experience preferred.
Compensation
Total compensation range for this role is $80k CAD
($60k base + $20K uncapped bonus). The range displayed on each job posting reflects the approximate total target compensation for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, education/training.
