DescriptionAmazon is looking for a highly motivated Fulfillment Center Operations Support Specialist to join our Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Field team. This individual will become part of Amazon’s efforts working to reduce packaging waste, minimize air shipped, and introduce automated packing solutions in the North American networks.Operations Support Specialists assist with project launches ranging from single package introductions to integration of new automation and pack solutions in the Fulfillment, Middle Mile, and Last Mile networks. Working independently, in small teams, and with large, cross functional teams, the successful candidate is a highly organized individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, experienced in fulfillment center operations, and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, with minimal oversight.This position is also responsible for packaging testing in accordance with ISTA-6 Guidelines and Amazon standards. Operations Support Specialists train, guide, and audit associates assigned to the various testing programs in the fulfillment centers. Specialists coordinate with FC and corporate leadership to maximize testing quality and throughput. This role serves as a MSP point of contact for FC outbound pack associates and leadership; addressing process, performance, and quality issues related to packaging programs.Additionally, specialists investigate, resolve, and, if necessary, escalate to partner teams packaging related escalations submitted via sim ticket queues, dashboards, and company communication channels. Specialists use various portals to deep dive the escalations and determine appropriate responses that protect associates, material handling equipment, and customer experience.Shift: Typically 8 hour days on weekdays, timing will depend on current needs of the business. Weekend coverage as required in order to support project launches and escalation response coverage.Responsibilities Include• Maintain and promote the fulfillment center safety standards.• Travel to various NA FCs within a 5-hour flight range (up to 75% travel required).• Test and evaluate products/packaging for e-commerce shipping utilizing a simulated transit test method adhering to a specific test volume plan and quality expectation.• Audit FC tests performed by associates throughout NA.• Maintain data integrity with proper use of the testing portals.• Effectively communicate with corporate and FC Leadership.• Provide feedback to program managers and project leaders as necessary.• Meet with manager on a bi-weekly basis to discuss performance and development.• Manage multiple projects and varying tasks simultaneously.• Support OB FC operations with communication and training related to pack compliance, SIOC hotkey, box suite optimization launches and adjustments, automation projects, and other operations engagements.• Support packaging launch activities in multiple FCs across the network.• Monitor and, when necessary, deep dive FC process performance, providing feedback to corporate and operations leadership.Position is "Remote"; based anywhere in the continental United States.Relocation not available for this role. The base pay for this position ranges from $39,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $84,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
