JOB DESCRIPTION:
Qualifications:
• Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
• 5+ years of product development experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in conceptualizing and iteratively developing innovative fiber optic hardware solutions.
• Create 3D models and prototypes demonstrating functionality and appearance.
• Engage hands-on in the field to gather insights.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews, contributing ideas and feedback.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design intent with project objectives and business goals.• Prepare detailed design documentation and presentation materials.• Educate and advise on industry best practices in Visual Language, Design Thinking, and UX/UI.• Execute packaging and label graphics according to current standards.Skills Required:• Strong communication skills for clearly conveying design intent.• Proficiency in CAD software (CREO preferred).• Creative problem-solving and challenging the status quo.• Good to strong digital sketching and visual communication skills.• Expert level proficiency in KeyShot and Adobe Creative Cloud.• Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.• High attention to detail and craftsmanship.• Effective collaboration and constructive feedback delivery.• Curiosity and willingness to experiment and innovate.• Ability to maintain visual brand language across a broad portfolio.• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.• Interest in sustainability, AI, generative design, and cutting-edge design tools.• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A).• Advanced understanding of human factors and ergonomics.• Additional UX experience or training is a plus.Work Environment:• Office conditions with regular computer and phone usage.• Light physical effort for frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.• Infrequent visits to manufacturing facilities and labs, requiring PPE.
