The Amazon Marketplace team is seeking a uniquely innovative and highly motivated Senior UX Designer to help us deliver a dramatically new and simple way to shop. From strategy and vision, through to execution, you'll work closely with our Engineering and Product teams to define new, simple interactions that sellers can engage with. You'll champion your concepts and ideas to diverse groups of developers, business owners, and executives in ad-hoc and formal presentations. The ability to balance high-level, holistic reasoning with detail-oriented feature design is imperative. You must be a critical thinker with a good design sense, have a strong technical background, and an instinct for making tasks simple. Amazon's Marketplace services over 2 million Sellers disrupting traditional notions of retail marketplace and connecting millions of businesses, big and small, to millions of Customers within the Amazon.com marketplace. The Marketplace business exceeds 40% of the total Amazon.com sales and each year, tens of thousands of businesses join the marketplace adding millions of new products. The products you would envision and craft require ambitious thinking and a tireless focus on solving customer problems. You must be passionate about creating innovative experiences (native mobile and web) that can scale to hundreds of millions of customers, and insanely curious about new technology and unlocking its potential. Create the vision for, and drive the design of, innovative solutions to a wide variety of user experience challenges. Work strategically with executives and other senior leaders within the organization to deliver useful, usable and desirable user experiences. Oversee and maintain detailed user-interface specifications. Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, user interface specifications and final graphics. Contribute to, and curate, design patterns and best practices. Use diverse inputs to identify and define exciting new concepts, opportunities, and customer problems. Lead brainstorming sessions and design reviews. Stay on the cutting edge of what's new in technology and user experience, identifying opportunities to and experimenting with applying new technologies and interaction patterns to customer problems. Evangelize prototyped concepts to a diverse audience, in both ad-hoc and formal presentations. Collaborate with cross fucntional teams to have a solid understanding of our customer behaviors and impacts of new designs. Basic Qualifications 8 years of experience as a user experience designer or interaction designer. 3 years of experience as a lead/senior creative contributor. A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating human-centered design solutions and showing your ability to turn ideas into a strong and unique creative vision. Experience designing for a variety of form factors including: iOS, Android, Tablet and desktop Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques. High proficiency in design and prototyping software such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Axure. Fluent communication with a proven track record of presenting to and influencing senior management. Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related field required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a highly agile/scrum environment. Experience delivering global solutions. Ability to rapid prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS a strong plus. Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, user interviews, contextual inquiry) is a strong plus. Proficiency with web and accessibility standards. .
