DescriptionThe People Engagement Experience (PEX) team is looking for a passionate and people-obsessed leader to manage a design team focused on engagement and recognition experiences. You have proven the ability to lead your team to succeed in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment.Key job responsibilities• Manage and creatively lead a team of UX designers to define and deliver end to end employee experiences• Define, develop and socialize a clear vision for design innovation and big thinking while not sacrificing speed of delivery• Work cross-functionally to drive elegant design solutions from early concept through final implementation and iteration• Use data and customer insights to confidently defend design solutions with senior leaders• Lead brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big thinking while raising the bar on the details• Bring deep expertise in UX design (frameworks, interaction models, prototypes, research), helping team members weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seeking input where needed to drive alignment• Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions from your team that scale• Develop processes and identify opportunities for improvements that drive quality and efficiency to help the team accomplish more than what they could otherwise• Model behavior that exemplifies Amazon Leadership Principles in your team and raises the design bar for the organization• Drive adoption of design systems, mechanisms, best practices, processes, and toolsAbout The TeamWe are a multidisciplinary team creating truly meaningful products and experiences that empower and connect millions of Amazon employees. Our team consists of designers, researchers, and writers, and is diverse in terms of educational background, gender, race, and skills. Your team will be based primarily in New York and Seattle.Basic Qualifications• 6+ years of design experience• 3+ years of leading design teams experience• Experience leading design teams in problem definition, artifact rendering, cross-functional collaboration and delivery, and user validation and measurementPreferred Qualifications• Experience designing mobile web or on-device mobile applications• Experience with agile/scrumAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
