We also understand the challenges facing physicians, facilities, hospital systems and other provider organizations and work to meet your needs as well as your patient's needs.About AmedisysAmedisys allows patients to return to their homes to receive the same, high-quality rehabilitation care they would receive in a skilled nursing facility. Nearly all of our care centers maintain a 4-star rating or above. This puts us 33% above the national average. Amedisys Hospice agencies exceed the national average in all seven out of seven Hospice Item Set scores that CMS uses to measure hospice quality. At Amedisys, we believe that hospice is a gift that too few Americans receive. More than half of eligible patients do not elect it. Among those who do, most only experience its benefits for days or weeks, despite the fact that those with a life expectancy of six months or less are eligible. The hospice benefit is among Medicare's most unique in that it treats the whole person - medically, emotionally, psychosocially and spiritually. While each patient's care plan will cater to their unique needs at the end of life, hospice providers like Amedisys offer a core set of services, including skilled nursing care, hospice aides, medical social workers, chaplains, volunteers and bereavement support professionals.
