Cloud Engineer II

As the Cloud Engineer II, you are an experienced systems administrator who is eager to grow your technological skills on a global stage. In this role, you will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy. From early on, you’ll help empower our breakthrough innovations, be given challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and take ownership of various components.

As the Cloud Engineer II, you are an experienced systems administrator who is eager to grow your technological skills on a global stage. In this role, you will protect our critical information, systems, and assets, build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and assist in the development of an overall IT strategy. From early on, you’ll help empower our breakthrough innovations, be given challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and take ownership of various components.  

Compensation

ACE is committed to paying a competitive wage while staying true to our mission of maintaining high quality, affordable programs for our students. The starting salary range for this position is $110,000 plus all full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus. Offers vary depending on education prior experience and expertise being applied to the role.

Day to Day Responsibilities

In this role you will wear different hats, but your skills will be especially essential in the following areas:

  • Designs, deploys, and manages public cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and private cloud infrastructure and services. 
  • Monitors and optimizes cloud performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. 
  • Implements and manages security measures to protect cloud environments. 
  • Builds and manages deployment pipelines using common CI/CD tools. 
  • Automates cloud operations and workflows using scripting and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools. 
  • Collaborates with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services. 
  • Troubleshoots and resolves cloud-related issues and incidents. 
  • Stays updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices. 
  • Documents cloud and system configurations, procedures, and changes. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services. 
  • Strong knowledge of containerizing applications (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) 
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Windows servers and services. 
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform). 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
