This role involves handling complex issues, providing high-level technical support, and leading efforts to improve application reliability and performance. The Site Reliability Engineer will act as a subject matter expert, guiding junior team members and collaborating with various IT and business teams to ensure the effective operation and enhancement of business applications.This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Applications in the Division of Information Technology. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.Responsibilities:• Provide support for Membership Database (Aptify) and associated solutions:• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while working with end-users on the SQL-based membership (Aptify) system.• Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed to ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Detect and reproduce software defects and address directly or coordinate addressing.• Provide detailed documentation and training:• Assist in developing and maintaining Application Support Standards, procedures, resolutions and training documentation as required.• Create and coordinate training with the end users on new or updated solutions. Work closely with the technical support team to provide training and support.Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate SQL based reporting tools Assist in the development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data. Serve as the Incident Recovery Rapid Action Team lead when called upon. Serve as a business analyst in developing new applications or solutions with our internal customers as needed.• Mentor junior Application Support Specialists.Required Education and/or Experience:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred but not required.A minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a related technical role is required. Experience with general use of Microsoft Office365 Applications is required. Experience with REST APIs, SQL Server, TSQL, and relational database design is required. Experience with .NET/MVC framework, HTML, CSS, Javascript or other scripting languages required. Experience with Visio or Lucidchart for business process mapping required.
