Within GABM sits the Global Brand Strategy & Insights team, responsible for defining & accelerating the Amex Brand Strategy, delivering consumer insights, and elevating tools and learnings for the Global Marketing Community.About the RoleThe Senior Manager of Marketing & Advertising Effectiveness will join the US Brand Strategy & Insights team and lead the development of a learning and measurement ecosystem which can be applied to above-the-line and below-the-line marketing & advertising from Amex. Together, we are focused on improving brand consideration with prospects and deepening Membership loyalty with existing customers. This ecosystem will bring consumer insights to marketers across the Enterprise, guiding how we develop and evolve our marketing for greater impact, engagement, and efficiency over time.This new function will span segments like GenZ, Millennials, Small Business Owners, and US Consumer lines of business. To achieve this, significant collaboration is required across Analytics, Insights, Marketing, and Advertising teams. The Sr Manager will be expected to engage and vet external agencies to build this new research and learning ecosystem.This position reports to the Director, US Brand & Advertising Insights. A one-team mentality and commitment to partnering cross functionally with stakeholders and colleagues, as well as previous experience designing custom research to develop and optimize marketing and advertising is key.Key Responsibilities• Stakeholder communication and management: Build strong relationships across marketing, content, analytics and insights teams. Regularly seek input and alignment as ecosystem is designed, built, and rolled out.• Needs assessment: Develop deep understanding of stakeholder goals and how marketing and advertising is done at Amex; identify learning gaps and translate needs into clear opportunities for partnership.• Assess capabilities: Evaluate existing & potential research and measurement vendors; RFP partners and platforms that can enhance our suite of tools, capabilities and intelligence.• Ecosystem design: Develop the E2E process, capabilities, and external vendors/platforms for how research and insights should be leveraged to develop and optimize advertising and marketing across channels and audiences.• Socialization and training: Socialize playbook and best practices and partner with Marketing Enablement team to train stakeholders on new ecosystem. Serve as Marketing Effectiveness Center of Excellence.• Budget: Manage a budget, SOWs, and reconciliations supporting the build of this ecosystemQualifications• 5-7 years experience leading market research studies for advertising and/or marketing.• Understanding of different market research tools and capabilities to optimize and measure advertising, including when and how to leverage them in the campaign lifecycle.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence and effectively story-tell needs, plans and strategies to drive alignment on recommendations.• Strong planning and organization with ability to lead highly interdependent, complex initiatives and keep various workstreams on track.• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to move things forward, thinking outside-the-box about what’s possible• Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to think big picture, but dive into details to execute the big picture and drive measurable results.• Ambition to make an impact in a multifaceted growth environment and operate fluidly between strategy and execution to deliver flawlessly.Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
