Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I

Overview

America’s Service Line, LLC., the private fleet to American Foods Group, LLC. has opportunities for a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I at our Green Bay, WI location.  We are searching for someone who is outgoing, creative, and dedicated to supporting our team.  Fleet Maintenance Mechanics provide superior transportation service and support to our Over the Road Drivers which in turn allows them to better service our customers!

As our Fleet Maintenance Mechanic I, you will:

  • Routine trailer inspections that come through inspection bay.
  • Monthly tractor inspections.
  • Train on preventive maintenance on trailers.
  • Train on tire repairs and achieve certification.
  • Train on minor preventive maintenance on tractors.
  • Train to understand basics of a refrigeration unit.
  • Train to understand basic electrical systems on equipment.
  • Train to operate Company vehicles at terminal only.
  • Work in an efficient, timely, accurate, safe, and professional manner in accordance with all company policies, including all OSHA, DOT, and other governmental standards and regulations.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties: building maintenance, snow removal, yard maintenance, etc.
  • NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 

  • Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations. 

  • Achieved, or Actively in high school working to achieve, High School diploma or GED.
  • Achieved or Actively seeking to achieve a driver’s license.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must begin to furnish own hand tools.
  • Ability to operate all shop equipment and Company vehicles.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Paccar system.
  • Class A CDL.
