That means the terms and conditions of your employment are governed by university policy (including the Staff Personnel Policies Manual) and any collective bargaining agreement entered into between American University and SEIU Local 500 - Provost & Enrollment Division.Job Description:Summary:The American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) is seeking a visionary and innovative Website Administrator to lead its digital presence. This role is critical in shaping how the law school connects with diverse audiences, including prospective students, current students, faculty, alumni, and the broader legal community. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of current national trends in web design, content strategy, and digital user experience, with specific expertise in the unique needs of higher education, particularly law schools. A key focus will be on leveraging the web to support recruitment, retention, and the enhancement of the law school's reputation.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1.) Web Strategy & Vision• Develop and implement a comprehensive web strategy that aligns with AUWCL's goals and enhances the online user experience.• Stay ahead of national trends in web design, content management, and digital communication, particularly within the higher education sector.• Lead the design and development of web pages that effectively communicate AUWCL's mission, programs, news, and events, with a focus on leveraging the AUWCL brand to drive recruitment, retention, and reputation.• Collaborate with admissions, student affairs, and department marketing teams to ensure the website is a powerful tool for attracting and retaining students.2.) Content Management• Oversee the creation, updating, and management of web content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and engagement.• Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to gather and integrate content that supports institutional priorities.• Optimize web content for search engines (SEO) to enhance visibility and attract targeted audiences.3.) User Experience & Design• Ensure that the website is user-friendly, accessible, and responsive across all devices.• Regularly analyze web traffic data and user behavior to inform continuous improvements.• Implement best practices in UX/UI design, ensuring an intuitive and engaging online experience for all users.4.) Technical Oversight• Manage and maintain the college's web infrastructure, including the CMS (Content Management System), ensuring its functionality, security, and performance.• Work closely with IT teams to troubleshoot technical issues, implement updates, and integrate new technologies.• Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and other relevant regulations.5.) Collaboration & Leadership• Collaborate with AU Central Communications and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) on university-wide initiatives, particularly in the planned migration to an Adobe-based platform.• Serve as the primary point of contact for all web-related inquiries and projects.• Lead training sessions and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on web content management and digital best practices.• Collaborate with external vendors and consultants as needed to support web initiatives.6.)
