Martha O’Bryan Center is located in East Nashville. MOBC supports education goals for learners of all ages, empowers youth & adults in their careers, & provides stability & support for families. Hours: 8 am - 5 pm Essential Duties: Assist in curriculum creation, organization, & implementation Build relationships with students Provide academic assistance Encourage students to reach individual goals Provide enrichment activities based on individual gifts and talents Assist Site Coordinators in prep for upcoming programs Create enrichment lesson plans Inventory/organize program materials Attend & monitor students on weekly field trips Engage students in outdoor activities AmeriCorps minimum time members serve 300 hours over the course of their service, gaining hands-on experience working with families, youth, & community members. Minimum time members receive: $3370 living allowance (paid out twice monthly over the course of service) $1565 in education award upon successful completion of... hours $28/month in healthcare reimbursements Access to MOBC’s food pantry Professional development opportunities Qualifications Required: Over 18 years of age High School diploma or GED Legally eligible to work in U.S. Pass background checks to work with vulnerable populations & children Preferred: College degree or currently enrolled in a degree program; degree in Education is a plus Experience with youth population, teaching, or tutoring children Leadership experience is a plus Demonstrated success with participant recruitment & small event planning CPR/First Aid Training Physical Demands & Accessibility: Must pass a State of Tennessee childcare physical, or provide a Doctor’s Note stating that you are physically, mentally & emotionally stable to work with children including: Ability to lift 40 lbs. Agility to move quickly to keep pace with young children Stamina to remain alert and energetic for 8+ hours
