About this position
Established in 1959, the Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB” or “Bank”) is the main source of financing for economic, social, and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice and technical assistance to the public and private sectors of its borrowing countries.
The Analytics and Decision Support Unit (VPF/ADS) produces analytics for decision making at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels identifying, extracting, and analyzing data, ensuring strong client focus and excellence in service delivery. The Unit provides technical and functional advice to Senior Management on information issues related to resources allocation, internal strategies, programs, and initiatives. It dedicatedly integrates multidisciplinary groups to identify, design and implement optimization/simplification of operational processes and procedures, as well as change management.
- Provide support to ADS Dashboards, including but not limited to maintenance, upgrade and enhancements.
- Enable reports and dashboards on mobile and tablet devices (Android, iOS).
- Analyze, design, develop, and integrate standard reports into a Reports portal.
- Design and develop dashboards that organize, and present information housed at the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Reports and Dashboards
- Analyze source data of different types and design programs for extraction, transformation and loading into a centralized database.
- Develop and test programs using SQL and PL-SQL for database applications.
- Evaluate the impact, challenges, and risks of changes to existing dashboards or creation of new ones
- Develop and modify queries, programs, and stored procedures to support standard and ad hoc reporting.
- Design, develop and maintain dashboards in support to systems and their processes
- Help coordinate User Acceptance Tests (UATs), applying feedback into reporting systems
- Liaison with ITE on matters of systems and dashboards maintenance and support
- Support organizational change through the research of new tools and technologies, analyzing pros and cons of their possible use on the improvement of reporting dashboards
- Create and maintain data flow processes in support to business needs of integrated reporting
- Abide by, expand, and improve upon ITE’s published standards and guidelines, and best practices promoted by the industry
Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics
- Support the business by providing access to data intelligence for proper decision making
- Participate on meetings and discussions to support transformation
- Develop solutions for data visualization and statistical analysis
- Contribute with analysis to advance processes improvement projects and initiatives
Data Quality
- Perform analysis to identify data ownership, along with data production and consumption
- Perform analysis to profile the data, identifying and documenting patterns of errors, and provide recommendations for corrections
- Provide support to create data quality checkpoints and internal audit processes
- Help establish metrics to steer data quality initiatives
- Assist on the preparation of data quality policies as required by business needs
General tasks
- Develop and implement change management procedures for reporting systems
- Provide technical assistance to members of the team on reports and data extraction
- Prepare System and User documentations
- Assist on the preparation of training material, and deliver training on new systems and procedures
- Perform periodic and systematic analysis of live systems and provide recommendations
- Provide support to supervisor on meetings, presentations, documentation, and related tasks
- Education: bachelor’s degree in information technology or related fields. Demonstrated equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience in Business Analytics, including the design, development, and data analysis. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Languages: Excellent English and Spanish language proficiency, oral and written. Proficiency in French and/or Portuguese is beneficial.

- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
