Job Description 

At Aperia, we rely on a dynamic team of Administrators. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer who is ready to work with innovative technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that is always pushing boundaries. This person will assist with the build and support of the environment, then train others on the team to assist with these duties as needed. The ideal candidate has experience and advanced knowledge of the various cloud service providers with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure. They will execute the vision of our architecture team as we build our infrastructure in Azure and assist in guiding us on best practices such as performance, maintenance, and monitoring. 

Core Responsibilities  

• Maintains the company’s Azure environment.  
• Works closely with all technical groups including the IT, system, network, architecture, and development teams to build a highly performing Azure environment that will be accessible by our clients.  
• Makes recommendations on change to the current or future design based on experience and best practices.  
• Creates and maintains documentation and diagrams.  
• Work with architecture in the design and implementation of an Azure based DevOps strategy and development process.  
• Implementation and support of a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery process  
• Implementation and support of application infrastructure in Azure with IaaS, PaaS, and IaC  
• Interacts with vendors and service providers to resolve complex system related problems.  
• Works with architecture and development team to maintain deployment pipelines.   
• Reviews environment for adherence to compliance guidelines  
• Applicant must be able to exhibit proficiency at troubleshooting various cloud and system related issues.  
• Assist with management of company’s Office 365 environment including SharePoint.  
• Ability to work in a team environment.  
• Ability to work after hours to support after hours maintenance projects and on-call when necessary.  

Functional Responsibilities   

• 3 years’ experience with Azure cloud services implementation and maintenance including:  
• Azure IaaS, PaaS, and IaC  
• Azure CLI  
• Container platforms and tools (Kubernetes, docker, etc.)  
• Azure networking (VPN, ExpressRoute, Azure WAF  
• Identity management (Azure AD, etc.)  
• Cloud security (Key Vault, SSL, Azure Security Center)  
• Cloud monitoring (Azure Log Analytics, Azure Application Insights, etc.)  
• 2 years DevOps experience preferred.  
• 2 years CI/CD experience preferred.  
• Knowledge of FedRAMP compliance including Azure blueprints preferred.  
• Knowledge of Office 365 including SharePoint  
• Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse types of customers, employees and with various management levels within the company as well as vendor organizations to identify and resolve systems, network, software application and customer service issues.   
• Must be able to prepare, write, read, and demonstrate effective communications language skills.  

Technical Skills  

• Strong knowledge and expertise in cloud-based systems in a production setting with a focus in MS Azure  
• Experience with Azure implementations - help build design blueprints, to include concepts of different environments, DMZ, security, high availability, encryption, geographic scale, and resilience.  
• Experience implementing systems and applications utilizing IaaS, PaaS, and IaC within Azure in production environments.  
• Experience with building a DevOps strategy for the implementation of the automation of software testing, delivery, and infrastructure changes.  
• Support application, IT, and architecture teams in the design and decision-making process as we migrate applications into the cloud while adhering to best practice.  
• Experience with building a DevOps strategy for the implementation of the automation of software testing, delivery, and infrastructure changes.  
• High levels of understanding and experience of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Agile and other DevOps related methodologies  
• Ability to document moderate to complex technical issues, effectively summarizing issues for a range of technical and business clients.  
• Participates as a team member in project deliveries.  
• Ability to perform routine duties independently.  
• Ability to use analytical skills and consult with existing documentation to troubleshoot moderately complex issues affecting cloud services, systems, and applications.  
• Knowledge of standard project management methodologies and project life cycle phases.  
• Ability to analyze and evaluate technical requirements and specifications.  
• PowerShell and Linux shell scripting skills

Education or Certifications
