Freelance Inclusive Design Researcher (US-based remote)

Inclusive Usability is a core service offering for Applause. We are looking to bring aboard a seasoned UX professional with experience in inclusive design and accessibility best practices. The ideal candidate is a great communicator and self-starter with a specific focus on accessibility research.. This role will support both client and internal facing initiatives.Terms:• Role : Inclusive Design Researcher (UX Accessibility Researcher) freelance• Type: Freelance (1099)• Capacity: 5 - 25 hours per week• Duration: long-term, no end date• Location: remote, US-basedDescription:An experienced freelance UX Researcher with solid background in accessibility to get involved in:• Defining, planning and conducting user research studies for people with disabilities• Delivering compelling insights to the Product and Design teams• Providing actionable feedback to guide Product and Design decisions• Developing, innovating and evangelizing user research best practicesQualifications:• 3+ years in a Usability Research role or relevant professional experience such as in Product Management• Bachelor's Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, related field or similar work experience• Broad experience in qualitative research methods, especially remote and unmoderated methods• Experience with accessibility tools including screen readers and magnification tools in a UX context• Solid background in accessibility principles and inclusive design principles• Comfortable with metrics; able to synthesize quantitative data with qualitative user research• Proficiency in planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing and communicating research• Effective communicator able to speak fluently with business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders (in English)• Very collaborative with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic and creative environment
