A successful Sr. Lead UX Designer will: Create and design artifacts including, but not limited to: storyboards, wireframes, visual layouts, etc. Create working prototypes for usability testing and stakeholder review Document user interaction and experiences for web and mobile-based interfaces, applying standard design guidelines and techniques Develop annotated concepts to help produce meaningful feedback Conduct independent research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods Effectively communicate research and advocate findings cross-teams and to stakeholders Understand the domain and use design skills to develop elegant, simple solutions to complex problems Encourage and uphold high standards for our brand and product experiences Mentor UI developers, web designers/producers, graphic designers and content editors by leveraging years of industry expertise to effectively raise the technological bar of the company Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or Web Design Minimum of 5 years of hands-on in UX Design/Product Design work A portfolio demonstrating proficiency in visual UX design, with examples describing the challenge, process, solution, and outcome with references to research, testing, and thought processes A strong UX design aesthetic; education/training in UX design or equivalent experience in producing visually strong UI design Front-end UI coding skills, including HTML, CSS; experience coding own UI designs Expertise in Adobe XD, Figma (or Sketch) for creating basic designs and prototypes Capable of both advocating for the user while understanding where to compromise to meet business goals Self-motivated, capable of adapting quickly to a fast-paced environment and managing several projects simultaneously, working in rapid iteration Experience gathering input from end-users and conducting or participating in usability testing and needs-finding research Outcome-focused team player who is comfortable with daily standups and is actively engaged in the full process to define and deliver the solution Able to understand the short-term and long-term goals of a project and has the patience to work with the cross-functional team and a large set of stakeholders Experience using assistive tools and automated technologies such as WAVE from WebAIM, aXe by Deque, JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver Experience using and following Section 508 and Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and specifications - W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA), Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA), User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG), and Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) About Apple Leisure Group As North America's only vertically-integrated travel, hospitality and leisure management group, Apple Leisure Group is an industry innovator that combines the expertise of 14 leading brands.
