Application Scientist

QuEra Computing is seeking a talented, impact-motivated Application Scientist. At QuEra, you will focus on the creation and imaginative use of concepts from optimization and operational research to pose and solve problems over the entire gamut of logistics, energy, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, transportation, and telecommunications using near-term quantum computers. Working individually and as part of a team, as well as with business partners and clients, you will seek to quantitatively describe, predict, design, and control phenomena in a range of fields. This involves the study of relations between optimization, [quantum] machine learning, and quantum computing, as well as interacting with clients to develop business solutions, contributing to the development of the QuEra IP portfolio.

For this role, qualified applicants should have

• MSc or a PhD degree in applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• Knowledge of operational research and optimization problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with people in different functions

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with quantum computing
• Previous experience with applications in a relevant business sector including logistics, energy, oil & gas, manufacture, pharmaceuticals, transportation, and telecommunications
