Application Support Specialist I

Zurich is currently hiring an Application Support Specialist I to join their Application Support Center team. This position will be based out of our corporate office located in Schaumburg, IL. The successful candidate will provide technical support services to both internal and external customers related to applications covering a range of responsibilities focusing on project driven work as well as market and product expertise. This work will be built up to meet the number and variety of customer portfolios, and incident resolutions.


Applicant Support Specialist are responsible for a variety of tasks including:


  • Performs standardized operational tasks to ensure that the service levels and performance are met. Takes action where necessary to address or escalate performance or operational issues.
  • Reports service performance to line management and provides feedback on execution of standardized operational tasks to business.
  • Complies with IT service management governance, standards and polices.
  • Provides input for service level performance reports to the business generating improvement actions where necessary.
  • Supports the end-user satisfaction process and service improvement programs.
  • Manages incident escalations and complaints, working with the Business Unit to resolve individual service issues.
  • Supports business in disaster recovery testing.


Basic Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Application Support area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Application Support area


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Insurance Industry Experience
  • Customer support experience
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in fast paced work environment and multitask
  • Guidewire & Salesforce application knowledge
