As the 3D Technical Specialist 2 – Temporary, you are the catalyst for using 3D software in product design. You advocate for digital use by creating and evolving design processes, best practices and with the building and maintenance of 3D libraries and assets. You create an opportunity to partner and build relationships with designers and cross-functional teams. You are an innovative problem solver with a focus on collaborative teamwork. You do right through responsible and sustainable design.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. Please note this is a temporary contract until 1/3/2026, with the possibility for extension.

The 3D Creative team at Arc’teryx is integrated team that creates industry leading digital assets for internal and external partners and brings digital capability and expertise to the forefront of our product creation process. We are a creative, collaborative, and innovative group that streamlines workflows, creating efficiencies, and new opportunities in the development and commercialization processes all the way through to buy-in.
If you were in the 3D Technical Specialist 2 – Temporary role now, here are some of the core activities you would be responsible for:- Creating digitally accurate representations of physical product, materials and trims and ensuring the quality and maintenance of all related libraries
- Applying surface design details including material textures, trims to 3D renderings and support in revisions as needed
- Supporting in the creation of advanced renderings; creating and maintaining render scenarios, including lighting
- Supporting the maintenance and creation of 3D Avatars, poses and scanned objects for development and marketing use
- Serving as a resource for CLO3D across the design floor, helping new users and sharing of best practices as required
- Creating checkpoints throughout all asset creation processes to ensure asset compliance and sign off by the appropriate partner
- Helping to identify opportunities to reduce sampling through the use of 3D technology
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:- Collaborating with cross functional partners on 3D projects as required
- Identifying new ways of improving final renders, applications of 3D assets and organization and management thereof
- Discovering, evaluating, and sharing other advanced digital creation technologies and possibilities that support design and company objectives
Are you our next 3D Technical Specialist 2 - Temporary?- You have a degree/diploma in design, graphic arts, or similar field
- You have 3+ years’ experience in the application of 3D creation technologies (ideally in a technical apparel design environment)
- You are technically proficient with various technologies: CLO3D/VStitcher, Substance Suite (Designer and Sampler) Modo, Blender, Unreal, Adobe Creative Suite
- You are familiar with the export of UV maps and have some experience with interoperability of 3D file types across various DDCs
- You have an understanding of the design and development process
- You are skilled in the creation of photo-realistic renders of 3D objects
- You can translate complex technical language into demos and documented processes to support sharing of knowledge
- You are familiar with the use of and possibly creation of basic scripting (IE: Python)
- You have technical and creative skills to pattern and prototype (Knowledge of Gerber a plus)
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

$80,000 - $100,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $80,000 - CAD $100,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
