Accessibility Architect - Contingent

***This role is contingent on Bid Award***

Aretum is seeking an experienced Accessibility Architect to join our team and lead the charge in making our digital products accessible to all users. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing accessibility standards and guidelines that align with WCAG and Section 508 compliance.

Your expertise will be invaluable as you collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers and developers, to ensure that accessibility is integrated into all stages of the design and development processes. You will conduct accessibility audits, provide recommendations for improvement, and deliver training sessions to staff on best practices for inclusive design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct automated and manual accessibility testing (JAWS, NVDA, axe DevTools, etc.)
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to integrate accessibility best practices
  • Provide remediation recommendations and ensure compliance
  • Produce testing documentation with qualifications, methodologies, and outcomes
  • Participate in sprint reviews and validate acceptance criteria
  • 4+ years of experience in digital accessibility testing
  • Proficiency with tools like axe DevTools, WAVE, ANDI, and screen readers (JAWS, NVDA)
  • Trusted Tester certification (preferred)
  • Experience in agile environments and user-centered design teams
  • Knowledge of WCAG, Section 508, and inclusive design
