What will you be doing?
Argus is seeking a news reporter to cover all aspects of the North American oil refining and refined fuels industries – where the rubber literally hits the road for one of the largest energy consuming sectors in the world. This would include supply and demand fundamentals, corporate and public policy issues, macro-economic factors and anything that impacts market fundamentals. This position also covers the US biofuels industry, including public policy related to ethanol, biodiesel and other renewable fuels. The job involves writing for sophisticated industry audiences through both a daily online newswire and weekly publications.
What we’re looking for in you:
The ideal candidate is a resourceful, versatile and detail-oriented journalist who can cover both breaking news as well as in-depth features using data and insights from market sources. This includes covering major developments in refining, fuel transportation and marketing, corporate earnings and regular government and industry data.
The candidate must be a self-starter capable of handling a high-volume mix of breaking and enterprise stories, navigating regulatory filings and government databases, spotting trends and developing features. He or she will also work with reporters and editors from other teams around the globe to break news and write insightful analysis.
