Position Summary
The purpose of these positions is to provide part-time support to Project HOPE-Virginia in the administration of the American Rescue Plan – Homeless Children and Youth Funds (ARP-HCY). Primary responsibilities of this position will focus on assisting the state coordinator in prioritizing projects identified in the state plan and VDOE proposal, creating a plan of action, and completing projects through collaboration with other state agencies, Virginia school divisions, and community-based agencies and organizations. These positions will be primarily virtual with occasional in-person meetings and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as education or social work.
- Intermediate-level proficiency with standard desktop office applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, preferably Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work well with and provide services for a diverse constituency
- Appropriate experience working with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act Education for Homeless Children and Youth program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in a related field such as education or social work.
- Multiple years of experience working with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance program.
- Direct experience working with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance program at the school division level.
- Lived experience as a student experiencing homelessness or other challenging background learning experiences.
- Direct experience serving older youth, young children, or English learners experiencing homelessness.
Advertised Pay Range
Up to $45,000/year depending on education and experience
