Senior Development AccountantOur client is a Privately-Held, $4b+ Real Estate Development Firm who is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Accountant with development accounting, construction draws, process improvement and month-end-close experience to join their development accounting group..Great culture, growth opportunities and work/life balance.Responsibilities:• Assist with financial statement preparation, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, shareholder’s equity and disclosures, accurately and on a timely basis• Assess and/or draft payment applications from the standpoint of both the general contractor (G702/703) and the owner.• Manage the Textura processing for all contracts, designers, and vendors linked to assigned projects.• Assist with e-Builder functionality and align project costs with the general ledger each month.• Ensure timely and accurate data entry for all invoices, change orders, and general expenses.• Arrange fund disbursements through various title companies.• Prepare and review the general ledger, financial statements, and necessary accrual and adjusting journal entries in line with GAAP.• Review and/or prepare monthly work documents and reports for assigned projects.• Aid the commercial accounting team in consolidating financial results for owners.• Conduct profitability analyses for assigned projects.• Assess financial and operational activities and recommend improvements for efficiency and internal control.• Engage in various business process and technology integration initiatives.• Work with business teams and senior management on operational reporting metrics.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in accounting• CPA is preferable• Prior experience in Real Estate/Construction or similar industry preferred; experience with accounting for WIP scheduling preferred• Must be organized and detail oriented• Self-motivated and ability to multi-task• Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and work as a team• Excellent written and verbal communications skills for communicating issues to management• Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills• Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsAscendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.Ascendo is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, parental status, military service or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
