Job Description

The Details

ASOS has recently transitioned to a Product Operating Model, introducing product development teams aligned to product areas. These teams are empowered, cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, and self-organising, led by Product Managers and Engineering Leads.

You will join the Product Operations team, a vital supporting function that ensures both product development teams and the Product Management function scale effectively and operate seamlessly at ASOS.

The Role:

As an Agile Coach at ASOS, you will drive agility within specific product areas by coaching teams on agile principles, leveraging metrics, and fostering continuous improvement. You will help teams establish a shared understanding of agility and empower them to work more effectively.

In addition to supporting teams, you will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and senior leaders to embed agile practices across the organisation, enabling a culture of agility, collaboration, and innovation. You’ll also partner with the Product Operations team to implement new processes, deliver training in Agile and Product practices, and enhance the overall agile capability at ASOS.

This role reports to the Head of Product Operations.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, although are not limited to:

  • Provide hands-on support and expertise to guide teams and leaders at all levels define and implement the best possible approaches to deliver the highest value to our business and customers
  • Support the adoption of consistent measures that can be used to drive improvements in teams, strategic focuses and the whole of ASOS Tech in terms of quality, efficiency and outcomes
  • Share innovative practices to drive continuous improvements using different techniques as appropriate
  • Build, deliver and support internal training courses, both in person and remote to help grow the capability of the people within ASOS
  • Able to help resolve / troubleshoot delivery issues, supporting conversations across Tech to resolve impediments in the most effective way
  • Contribute and support the adoption of wider initiatives such as Tech Develops and the ASOS Tech Blog
  • Continued focus on making ASOS earn the right to be the tech employer of choice
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth
  • Encourage a culture of experimentation and iterative learning

What success looks like:

  • Being an integral member of the Product Operations team to facilitate the smooth flow of value, encourage innovation, and support the development of our people
  • Building effective relationships across the Product and Tech department and wider ASOS
  • Working in partnership with Product and Tech Leaders and their teams

Qualifications

About you 

  • Demonstrable experience of leveraging Lean and Agile principles to empower platforms to innovate, adapt, and deliver value
  • Breadth of experience of applying Lean and Agile approaches in different environments
  • The ability to flex your approach based upon the context and your personal experience
  • Strong coaching background and experience helping people and teams achieve results and improve outcomes
  • Knowledgeable mentor, teacher and facilitator
  • Previous experience of working within a fast-paced, high change organisation
  • The ability to communicate with ASOSers at all levels, flexing your style as necessary
  • Previous experience of working within agile teams with a record of continuous improvement
