ASSEMBLY INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST - job 1 of 2

General Purpose:
Responsible for all Assembly and Production Range inventory management.

Shift:
2nd Shift, Monday through Friday, 1:30pm to 9:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned by Assembly Supervisor
  • Use the Microsoft AX system to start upcoming orders to the assembly lines
  • Verify BOM/picking list, accurately pull/kit parts for upcoming orders, and issue to Assembly Line Leads accordingly
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory in Assembly, the Production Ranges and the Loading Room
  • Run inventory reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and perform detailed analysis
  • Coordinates with the Assembly Supervisor to ensure that orders are kitted out on time and in order
  • Coordinates with purchasing to monitor safety stock and evaluates monthly reports
  • Coordinate with other departments that utilize the parts flow rack to ensure proper inventory consumption
  • Supports necessary information exchange between shifts and with logistics, Kardex and supply chain, quality and technical services
  • Coordinate with Kardex to pull special-order parts (night sights, etc.) for production orders
  • Monitor scrap parts real time and issue new parts on demand using AX to consume accurately
  • Ensures that all problems are properly reported to Assembly Supervisor
  • Making sure that all parts locations in Assembly are properly named and numbered
  • Takes precaution to protect Assembly content against loss
  • Perform EOY (end of year) and daily inventory cycle counts of Assembly and Production Range department
  • Controls all non – conforming pistol parts from the Assembly flow rack
  • Operate variety of equipment, including pallet jack, hand truck, counting scale as needed
  • Supports all LEAN activities in the Assembly and production range area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standards
  • Ensures compliance with legal- and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility
  • Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility
  • Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up to date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures
Qualifications/Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or a GED

At least 3 years of experience in inventory control, preferably in the firearms, assembly, automotive, and/or metal manufacturing industry

Previous Firearms Experience Preferred

Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics AX

Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality control, and ISO 9000

Licenses and Certifications:
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Physical exertion may be required to lift in excess of 40 pounds and transport up to 40 pounds with assistance. Work requires bending, stooping, and working in small cramped areas. The employee is regularly required to work with and around oils, coolants, and cleaning solutions. Personal safety protective equipment is required.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, smoke and unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
