Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties:
Serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Primary contact for NCAA compliance related matters and coordinator of student support resources to enhance academic and sport performance. Serves as departments DEI and SAAC advisor.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Discipline / Degree Area:
Major, minor, or coursework in athletics administration, administration, or business.
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Required Minimum Work Experience:
Two years of work experience in NCAA compliance which can include relevant graduate/professional program or three years work experience in an institution of higher education in the student service area.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with NCAA rules and compliance issues concerning the administration of intercollegiate athletics.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of NCAA/Conference/NMU rules, policies and procedures.
Ability to accurately and efficiently perform required computerized tasks including word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, and web-based applications.
Ability to use database compliance software.
Ability to use ARMS, Banner or the equivalent.
Ability to work effectively under stressful and high pressure conditions.
Ability to travel, and work flexible and demanding hours.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Master's degree and/or terminal degree that is either highest on the academic track or highest on the professional track in a given field of study.
Previous experience as a NCAA athlete or coach.
Prior experience with compliance and eligibility process within college athletics.
