Role Description
The Assistant Controller is responsible for many aspects of the general ledger-related activities focused on proper application of US GAAP, accounting transactions, monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations. This role is also responsible for the treasury and tax functions and serves as the main contact with our external accountants.

You are a team player with strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset. You will be a part of a creative, diverse, collaborative team of hardworking individuals with the overall goal of increasing brand favorability, customer engagement and advocacy, and revenue growth.
  • Supervise the general ledger and Accounts Payable functions
  • Supervise and execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables
  • Understand, prepare, review, and approve accounting entries for all general ledger accounts and reconciliations of monthly balances
  • Prepare monthly financial statement flux analyses for management
  • Evaluate process and system infrastructure, along with identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate diverse financial activities to determine correct GAAP accounting treatment and adherence to internal policies
  • Work cross-functionally with and support our business partners by providing financial insights and relevant reporting
  • Assist in coordinating annual audits with external auditors
  • Assist with the annual budget process and monthly forecasts
  • Deliver on ad-hoc projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Impact and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with ability to interpret and apply authoritative accounting pronouncements
  • Process re-engineering involvement and /or process efficiency focus
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter, team player and able to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong Excel skills

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervises direct reports, providing leadership and mentorship
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and effective
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, partnering with Human Resources Business Partners
