Salary is good, but could be better matched to the cost of livingWe’re people without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. So if you’re passionate about learning new things and keen to join our mission, you’ll fit right in.
Also, qualifications aren’t that important to us. If you’ve got great experience, and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.
And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.
We’re a global tech company with a big mission and a startup heart – 3,500 people, from 90 nationalities, working in 17 offices around the world.
But in the words of our founder: “People don’t join a company, they join a mission”. Ours is a big one: money without borders. Everything we do at Wise revolves around achieving our mission for customers.
The current international banking system is broken. It doesn’t let us send, spend or receive money across the globe easily, quickly, or cheaply. So we’re building a new system – the world’s most international account. For everyone, everywhere.
We like to think of Wise’s working environment as the perfect mix of big and small. Big enough to solve problems for millions of customers, but small enough to be growing at the speed of light. Big enough to flip an industry on its head, but still small enough to have a long way to go.
Our people are some of the most intelligent, curious people in the business and we’re big enough to attract them. But we’re still small enough for you to get close to our customers and have an impact on the problems we need to solve.
How we work
We work differently and we’re proud of it. Here you’ll have bucket loads of freedom, responsibility and autonomy.
That autonomy extends to your work-life balance too as our success lies in letting you shape your role to suit how you work best. We trust each other to get stuff done.
We work in autonomous teams.
Autonomous teams are central to the way we work. Our teams are closest to our customers, and are empowered to decide what to prioritise and deliver, without unnecessary bureaucracy. Working this way helps us move at speed and achieve our mission faster.
We put our customers first.
We’re working to create a fairer financial system for real people. So we make sure customer voices are the loudest in the room. Whether that’s working through feedback, inviting customers to test our product, or having them talk us through how we’re doing. We listen and we serve — no egos, no exceptions.
We get better through feedback.
Feedback is a good thing. Our teams get it early and they get it often. Anyone, in any team, can challenge anyone else’s ideas. You can even challenge the CEO. In fact, he’d welcome it. Our teams gain focus from working this way, it helps us move fast and recognise when we need to shift direction. And we all work hard to give genuine, direct, and respectful feedback to the teams around us.
We learn as we grow.
Our growth over the past few years has been fast. Very fast! Last year we almost doubled in size. Which means that half of our people have been with us less than a year.
Fast growth brings challenges and we have our growing pains. Teams are working on so many different things at once, it can be hard to keep up with everything that’s going on. But we listen to each other, get stuck in and do whatever it takes to make the best working environment we can for everyone.
Yes, you’ll get the usual stuff like a laptop, holidays and a salary but we don’t just want to sell you a list of benefits. We’d like to explain a bit more about why we offer what we do.
🚀 Sharing our success
We offer everyone who works for us stock options. After all, we’re building Wise together and we want you to share in the success of our $11 billion company on a mission. We’ve been profitable for over 4 years now and we don’t plan on slowing down.
💪 It’s a marathon, not a sprint
We know working at Wise is challenging and all our people go above and beyond for our customers. Because of this, after 4 years at Wise, you’ll have the option to take a paid sabbatical — 6 weeks paid time off and £1,000 in addition, so you could make the best use of your free time.
👫 Flexibility and trust
We encourage flexible working. Whether it’s time off for children, working from home, school plays, volunteering or just life admin — we know flexibility is essential.
To further this commitment, we’ve also implemented a hybrid working system, meaning you can work remotely for 90 days a year. And by ‘remotely’ we don’t just mean from home, but from wherever in the world you choose. Find out more about our hybrid model of flexible working and why we introduced it from here.
At Wise, your success is measured by the impact you have, not the amount of time you spend behind the desk.
🏡 A home away from home
We work hard to create office environments that people enjoy stepping into and where everyone can do their best work. All our offices are pet-friendly and offer a bunch of cool benefits. For example, true to our Estonian roots, you can count on there being a sauna!
We also offer:
We’re in this together. We’re revolutionising an industry so our work can often be chaotic and challenging. Sometimes we fail, and that’s okay — it’s a great way to learn.
We have four core values at Wise, which every employee lives by:
🚀 This isn’t just a job, it’s a revolution.
We don’t come to work, just to come to work. Our mission, actually driving positive change for over 10 million people, is what motivates each one of us to do their best work every day. We believe we’re working on something bigger than ourselves — and we can’t do this hanging out in our comfort zones.
💪 We get it done.
Fixing a broken system is not easy, but someone’s got to do it. At Wise, we work in an autonomous team structure, which enables each team to work in the fastest, most efficient way possible. We empower each of our employees to be their true, best selves at work.
💙 Customers > Team > Ego
Customer voices are the ones we believe should be loudest, whatever we do. Wise started because there was a real life problem our two co-founders needed to fix for themselves. And over ten years later, we’re still only at the start of fixing this massive, ancient industry. We’re working to create a better world for our customers — that’s the whole point.
Ego? Vanity? No. Stay humble.
❌ No drama. Good karma.
Wise is home to diverse, opinionated people from over 90 nationalities and all walks of life. We respect each others’ worldviews and challenge arguments, not individuals. We’re open and honest with each other — no hidden agendas, no BS.
Engineers at Wise are quite literally building something that no one ever has. For the past ten years, we’ve been on a mission to make international finance work for everyone, everywhere. Rather than relying on the traditional SWIFT messaging infrastructure and correspondent banking relationships, we’ve built our own system to move money around the world.
And we’re not stopping just yet — to make money truly borderless, we want to integrate to more and more local systems. No one’s ever built a single global network which hooks into all the different local payment systems around the world. We’re doing it.
We’ve also moved to a platform based business model, and continue to invest in machine learning, automation and prediction. This means that our systems have to be robust, all while being scaled sustainably.
Wise is seeing phenomenal growth. But scaling our product to reach millions more customers brings very real technical challenges. We need your help to take Wise to the next level.

Building the future of international payments: our vision
You build it. You run it.
Here, every engineer is a product person, free to work as you see fit — within an independent, autonomous team. Your team has end-to-end ownership over the problems you’re solving together. You’ll ship often, learn, and iterate. And when things don’t work out, post-mortems are blameless.
Our employees have bucketloads of freedom — in their day-to-day work, and when shaping their career path.
Career growth at Wise is all about scaling your impact: finding smarter ways to do things and prioritising the most impactful opportunities around you. There are no traditional line managers telling you what to do. Instead, leads help remove blockers and support your growth.
