Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Housing Facilities - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for the hiring, selection, training and evaluation of facilities and housekeeping staff within identified buildings. Provide direct supervision of one Custodial Supervisor and a team of maintenance mechanics/specialists.
Work in consultation with Assistant Director for Residence Education to ensure living environments are conducive to support the community develop and academic support components of the department mission.
Responsible for day-to-day work order response, maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for identified buildings / areas.
Conduct weekly building walks to ensure buildings are safe, secure, and well maintained. Address concerns as needed.
Responsible for ensuring work orders are responded to in a timely manner and proper quality control measures are in place.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and standards in addition to compliance with all campus standards regarding safety, security, and facilities maintenance.
Interact with students and parents as needed to address facility issues and concerns.
Analyze maintenance trends and develop proactive plan to address concerns.
Assist with development of a comprehensive 5-year capital project plan.
Oversee and implement all emergency procedures as needed including emergency weather response plan.
Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.
Coordinate all turn process including summer, winter break for all students in identified buildings / areas.
Provide assistance with the development of the annual budget for all facility operations.
Assist with budget management including monitoring expenses, research purchase options, collect competitive quotes.
Collaborate with campus stakeholders to ensure all campus standards, safety protocols and regulations are properly implemented.
Coordinate all campus partners needed for services including service contracts, preventative maintenance schedules, capital projects, escorting, record keeping.
May represent the university on appropriate committee at the national, state, and university level.
Performs related job-related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of his/her area.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.
Salary:
$68,000 - $75,000 per year.
