Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Transactions

As Assistant General Counsel at Health Gorilla, you will report to the Chief Legal Officer on the Legal Team.

What you will do at Health Gorilla

  • Draft and negotiate Sales/Revenue agreements in the healthcare SaaS space (including Enterprise Licensing, SaaS and Reseller Agreements), BAAs and Vendor agreements
  • Ensure privacy and regulatory risks are mitigated in collaboration with Compliance, Privacy, Security and Product teams
  • Develop negotiation playbooks and provide relevant training as needed
  • Engage in risk assessment/mitigation and developing thoughtful approaches to legal issues to support our goals
  • Other responsibilities to be determined

What you bring to the role

  • 10+ years of legal experience with experience being part of an in-house legal department at a B2B healthcare SaaS or IT company
  • Juris Doctor degree with active membership in Good Standing with one or more state bars
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements (SaaS/ VAR/ MSA) and BAAs
  • Working knowledge of relevant privacy laws and regulatory frameworks including: HIPAA, Anti-kickback Statute and CCPA
  • Enthusiastic and driven team member who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building relationships cross-functionally, and working on cutting-edge legal issues.
  • This role can be remote within either Mountain or Pacific time zones #LI-Remote

  • Health Gorilla takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this role is $168,000 to $247,000, based on experience and geography. Please note that ranges may be modified at any time, and there is no guarantee offers will be at the top of a posted range.
