Job Family Descriptor
Provide strategic planning and design for international transmission networks and services.
Evaluate new technologies and platforms for subsea and terrestrial transmission networks.
Support Complex solutioning requirements against customer demands.
Provide L4 level SME Support to Operations team for troubleshooting and Root cause analysis for Platform level Outages.
Engage in security assessment activities as POCs in networks to prevent any security breach from outside.
Broad outline of the Role
Collaborates with internal & external stakeholders for continuous improvements in productivity with the objective to ensure timely availability of network capacity and support business demands.
This includes collection of business and engineering requirements for network capacity and performances in both medium and long terms.
Work with other colleges to find optimal solutions in the marketplace to find the most cost-effective solutions.
Size and Scope of Role - Financial
Participate in new subsea technology evaluation and qualification
Work with Operations and suppliers to operate subsea equipment
Support retrieval and analysis of performance data of subsea cables and line terminal equipment
Work with the team handling the US NSA concerns such as legal, GISS, and Operation to support any issue related to the NSA such as network vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans to comply the NSA
Work with OEM suppliers and Operations to manage servers and software for NMS/EMS & network elements for Int’l Tx network
Support Tx network engineering projects in North America.
Minimum qualification & experience
BE or ME in electronics and telecommunications.
5 years experiences in subsea network engineering, terrestrial transmission network engineering, or DWDM network engineering
Technical Competencies
Must be able to collaborate across stakeholders – Internally (Product, other network engineering teams, Service Assurance, Service Delivery, Field Operations, Project Management, etc) and Externally (mainly OEM vendor teams, and occasionally Customers)
Excellent Communication/Client relationships/ Executive engagements /Strategic planning /evaluating new account penetration techniques etc.
Excellent command on Industry footprints & great product knowledge would be an additional advantage.
