Unicorn Role Overview:

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive professional with experience in fashion retail buying? As a part-time Procurement Specialist, you’ll manage the buying and inventory processes for their stores, especially during peak times like quarterly trade shows. This role is perfect for someone with strong analytical skills who can handle purchasing, inventory management, and supplier coordination. If you have experience in fashion retail and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team!

What You’ll Do:

  • Buying Calendar Management: Maintain the Buying Calendar Tracker to ensure timely purchasing and stay ahead of deadlines.
  • Supplier Communication: Contact brands for linesheets, lookbooks, and inventory updates. Build strong relationships with existing and potential brands.
  • Product Organization: Organize selected products on the master digital merchandising board for easy access and tracking.
  • Purchase Order Management: Create and maintain purchase orders; update the shared Open To Buy spreadsheet for accurate tracking of inventory and purchases.
  • Order Processing: Submit orders to brands via email or their online systems and cross-check order confirmations, syncing them with internal calendars.
  • Logistics Coordination: Ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any logistics issues by coordinating with suppliers.
  • Invoice Processing: Review and process invoices to ensure accuracy before payments are made.
  • Sales Data Analysis: Analyze sales data to inform and support future buying decisions.
  • Task Tracking: Use Asana to manage and track tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of duties.

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets (Excel), with the ability to create and maintain detailed reports.
  • Experience with Asana or other project management tools to track tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong web search skills for identifying new trends, brands, and potential partnerships.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to write professional, tone-conscious emails.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accuracy in purchasing and inventory management.
  • A proactive approach to anticipating needs and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and make suggestions for process improvements.
  • A fast learner who can adapt to changing processes and workflows.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to manage expectations realistically.

Time Commitment: Part-Time 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. EST (20 hrs/week, 80hrs/month)
