Investment Services Public Markets


Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC’s global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities, and other derivatives.


We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Trade Management & Asset Servicing team as an Associate/Assistant Vice President, primarily working with the portfolio execution group (PEG) and external counterparties, managing execution of trades and transactions from the front execution support to mid and back of settlements and life cycle events. The successful candidate will be given responsibilities in some of the functions and products listed below. Development and cross-training will be provided for the person to effectively support the business.


Responsibilities


  • Support global markets investment activities and perform trade processing of various asset classes, such as

    • Cash Securities: Cash Equities, Cash Bonds, collateral swaps, term loans.

    • Exchange-traded Futures & Options.

    • OTC Derivatives: Total Return Swaps, Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default swap, Options, Cross Currency Swaps, Volatility, and variance swap, etc.

    • Foreign Exchange & Money Market instruments: FX, deposit, repos.

  • Ensure prompt matching of trade confirmations, sufficiency of funding and timely settlement for all trades across global markets.

  • Support asset servicing functions of all investments throughout the life cycle of the trade such as exercise/ assignment, novation, income collection, corporate action, and credit event processing.

  • Provide data management support.

  • Provide collateral support in ensuring that firm wide collateral obligation is fulfilled with maximum collateral optimization.

  • Provide cash management support for the global treasury desk in meeting the firm’s liquidity requirements.

  • Provide execution control support for the Portfolio Execution Group in ensuring execution readiness via credit line management, broker onboarding and synthetic crossing.

  • Work with external counterparties, brokers, and service providers to resolve operational issues, keep track of market developments, and ensure service level is met.

  • Drive process improvements for productivity and quality enhancements; design solutions to integrate into processes.

  • Assessment for implementation of new products and markets for investment by portfolio managers.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in trade operations with a global financial services firm.

  • Inquisitive and curious, detail-oriented, strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills and possess a drive for excellence.

  • Constantly keep up to date with industry developments, resourceful, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

  • A good team player who collaborates well with internal and external counterparts, self-motivated and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

  • Some experience interacting with investment professionals and traders is an added advantage, but not a pre-requisite.


Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.


Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $95,000 and $145,000.


Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
