Integrated Strategies Group (ISG)

ISG team has a flexible investment directive and invests across the public and private asset markets as well as across the capital structure.

ISG pursues cross asset and less conventional investment opportunities, develops thematic investment strategies and actively expands GIC’s network of relationships beyond traditional domains. The team aims to capture opportunities that slip through the cracks for traditional asset classes. ISG’s flexible investment mandate allows for the ability to find the ‘right investment structure’ – this could include public & private equity, M&A financing, PIPEs, structured / convertible securities, mezzanine and other debt instruments. The team also does thematic deep dives and opens the funnel for new investment areas; recent examples include aircraft leasing, music royalties, mobile spectrum amongst others.

ISG is focused on:

• Family Solutions - to work with founders, entrepreneurs, and family offices to provide customised solutions to our partners such as acquisition and growth capital, family liquidity needs, and shareholder restructuring.
• Corporate Solutions - to tailor merger & acquisition financing, subsidiary-level stakes, and aligned and constructive minority investor.
• Alternative Partners - that are not addressed by other teams such as fund-less sponsors, and funds focused on a specific niche.
• Financing Solutions - to provide flexible solutions to finance intellectual properties, royalty streams, aircraft leasing, US mid-market leading, and tax receivable assets, etc.
• Joint Investments - alongside other investment groups to optimise sizing and terms for GIC.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that improves GIC’s alpha-generating capability and capacity by engaging partners, exploring new investment themes, and investing through innovative structures.

What will you do as an SVP?

Deal Sourcing

• Develop strong networks and be the first port of call for potential investments in your domain
• Identifying new investment opportunities and themes by leveraging your network, and market and industry intelligence

Investment Analysis and Execution

• Lead the full deal lifecycle: originating, screening and executing investment opportunities, leading deal team and managing liaison with external advisors

• Lead deal evaluation, developing and presenting investment thesis to Investment Committee and negotiating transaction documentation

• Manage negotiations, deal structuring and pricing, due diligence processes, and legal closings
• Make sound investment judgement.

Portfolio Monitoring

• Beyond investment approval, take an active role in monitoring portfolio companies
• Play a central role in the ongoing monitoring of both the financial and operational aspects of portfolio investments while adding value to investee companies
• Take up board seats where appropriate

Team Leadership

• Mentor the junior team members to enhance their capability as an investor
• Influence, promote and facilitate teamwork and collaboration within and across teams where applicable.
• Foster diversity and inclusion, provide psychological safety, and creates a sense of belonging and a great place to work for the team.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Have strong industry networks to deal source and/or be the first contact for potential investments. Strong entrepreneurial streak to cultivate new relationships and develop new investment themes.
• Intellectual curiosity, ability to handle ambiguity and interest in evaluating opportunities across asset classes (listed equities, structured equity, private equity, credit, funds etc.).
• Over 12 years of prior buy-side experience with in-depth knowledge of deal valuation and/or sector expertise to evaluate and influence sound decision.
• Previous experience investing with cross-asset and flexible capital structure is considered an asset

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $210,000 and $400,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
