What’s unique about this role?

The associate systems engineer has the responsibility of administrating, maintaining, monitoring, expanding, and troubleshooting our 24x7 IT infrastructure in multiple datacenter locations. The associate systems engineer will work with other team members to ensure high availability for our application, database, and storage infrastructure.


What will this person do?

  • Provide technical support in the implementation and management of our IT environment.
  • General administration of Windows servers, Vmware, and eDiscovery applications.
  • Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and document business data requirements in complete, accurate, extensible, flexible logical data models.
  • Understand the concepts of High Availability and Business Continuity.
  • Under the direction of Sr. Engineers be able to implement, configure and operate complex compute and database environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot using vendor utilities and 3rd party tools.
  • Serve as engineering support for all IT systems.
  • Implement Windows servers environment (disk layout, RAID levels, etc.) to ensure performance and data availability.
  • Proactively monitor systems to ensure high availability of services with minimum downtime.
  • Perform day-to-day engineering and administrative tasks including storage migration support, storage provisioning, maintaining storage capacity, and responding to alerts and incidents, etc.
  • Resolve technical issues.
  • Provide analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Analyze and resolve performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues for all production and test systems.
  • Assist in the technical implementation and support for current and future projects.
  • Complete routine requests for changes/modifications/additions to IT systems
  • Manage and escalate cases to vendors for problem resolution.
  • Implement service packs and cumulative updates.
  • Participate in daily stand-up.
  • Participate in on-call rotation after-hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed.
  • Work with other engineers and operations staff responsible for the hardware, software, and processes that support Lighthouse IT

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data center design and principles - hosting experience a plus
  • Provide “follow the sun” support for other international locations.
  • Windows Server experience
  • SAN/NAS experience
  • Vmware ESXi experience
  • Cisco UCS experience
  • Familiarity with IT Security principles
  • Work with datacenter providers (co-location or managed services) to provision hardware.
  • Scripting skills using PowerShell to perform automated tasks
  • 3+ years of progressive experience with IT systems and related components
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field or comparable years of experience in field


Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

As required by applicable pay transparency laws, Lighthouse complies with compensation disclosure requirements for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.


The expected pay for this role will range from $58,650 to $97,750 per year. This role will be eligible to participate in an annual bonus or incentive program.
