Associate Technical Artist - Remote

Who We Are

Second Dinner is an award-winning independent game development studio that is here to make the most fun games in the world. Not super fun games. Not SUPER DUPER fun games. We mean the MOST fun games. In fact, our game MARVEL SNAP has earned multiple Mobile Game of the Year Awards (Game AwardsDICE), Best Strategy Game (IGN), and the Apple Design Award for Innovation!

Second Dinner is a remote-first studio, so while we are headquartered in Irvine, California, most of our team is fully remote across the United States. We want the most talented teammates wherever they call home. A diverse team with varied perspectives makes us a better company and will help us make better games. If you can bring something new to the table and expand our point of view, that's a huge upside.

Our Art Team

The Art Team drives the visual direction of our games and creates a cohesive and consistent experience. We strive to create the highest quality art and we’re always looking for ways to raise the bar! It’s our job as Game Artisans to create, refine, iterate, and help make our games look amazing! We partner with every part of the studio: design, engineering, production, data, product management, marketing, and audio to make the most fun and visually engaging experiences possible for our players!

  • Implement assets across various art pipelines
  • Take direction and execute changes that ensure in-game assets hit the defined quality bar, have proper functionality, and meet optimization goals
  • Learn and utilize proprietary tools to create amazing assets
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Art Outsource team to optimize implementation of assets from external artists

What You’ll Need:

  • Ability to adapt and learn new technology to find solutions
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with artists, engineers, etc.
  • Superb attention to detail
  • The ability to manage large scale tasks across different pipelines

Nice to Have But Not Necessary:

  • Advanced Unity, Photoshop, Illustrator skills
  • Understanding of basic art fundamentals (Composition, Form, Perspective, Anatomy, Value & Lighting)
  • Understanding of game engines, pipelines, and processes
  • Excited by the Marvel IP
