Our Data & Analytics Team

At Second Dinner, data plays a crucial role in conveying the voices of our players and informing our decisions, which leads us to great games and player experiences. Our team informs decision-making with scientific and methodological rigor. We build data and ML-powered player experiences directly into the game. We innovate in analytics tooling and data science capabilities to redefine what is possible in game development and operations.

Your Role

You will report to the Senior Director of Product and Strategy in Marvel SNAP. You will make a direct impact on an award-winning game that is played by millions around the world. Your primary responsibility is to lead and grow an effective Data and Analytics team in Marvel SNAP to impact the game directly. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get hands-on with data science, analytics and engineering projects. You will collaborate with Product Management (PM), Design, Engineering, AI, Production, Marketing, and many other disciplines to help make our game wildly fun and drive growth worldwide. What You’ll Do:

• Hands-on build and deliver reliable and effective data and analytics solutions to empower Marvel SNAP.
• Build strong partnerships with PM, Design, Production, and Marketing to identify and translate business opportunities into data and analytics initiatives.
• Attract, manage, and grow top data science and analytics talent to build and lead a lean, nimble team.
• Partner with central technology teams to adopt new solutions and tools.
• Enable and empower self-service analytics across the Marvel SNAP team.
• Cultivate a safe, open, collaborative data culture across the Marvel SNAP team.
• Level up excellence in our approach to data, analytics, and experimentation.
• Contribute to Second Dinner’s overall data science, data engineering, analytics, and experimentation strategy.

What You’ll Need:

• Strong experience leading and growing a cross-functional data and analytics team in the gaming industry.
• Outstanding experience in mentoring and coaching talent with different experience levels in both technical and non-technical fashions.
• Strong hands-on experience with data science, analytics, and data engineering.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure, Databricks, and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker or Tableau).
• Experience with Apache Spark.
• Expertise with SQL and Python.
• Strong ability to convey technical concepts clearly and concisely among audiences with different backgrounds.
• Strong ability to partner with stakeholders to lead product improvement and innovations.
• Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative cross-functional work environment.
• Passionate player of mobile games.
• Mindset for serving a diverse and global player base.

Nice to Have, But Not Necessary: 

• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• Experience building and running large-scale production data and ML systems.
• Experience with C# or C++.
• Experience working in online video games, preferably free-to-play mobile games.
• Experience with product management for live service games. 
• Experience with analytics for consumer-facing online services with a global presence.
• Passion for making video games.

The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $170,000 to $220,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.

Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future.
