About the Position:

Under the general direction of a Research Data Manager, the incumbent will guide and communicate with internal Caltrans stakeholders, contractors, vendors and transit agencies to ensure that transit agencies produce high quality transit traveler information. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing data to determine areas for improvement and then communicating these opportunities to transit agencies to assist them towards improving their data.

The incumbent is expected to plan, carry out and track the progress of transit agencies as they improve their data. The incumbent will assist with establishing various standard operating procedures to be able to provide a framework for repeating various outreach tasks and reports. The incumbent will become a training resource for transit agencies and will maintain a sufficient knowledge of all data production expectations that transit agencies are expected to achieve. In some circumstances, the incumbent will directly edit and create data in partnership with transit agencies.

The incumbent will be expected to assist with setting up future additional workstreams upon additional types of transportation data similar to this transit data quality program.

The incumbent shall represent the Department in a professional and courteous manner and maintain a professional working relationship with internal and external partners.
