Associate/Manager, Strategic Operations

We're looking for Strategic Operations Associates/Managers to help us accomplish our mission to improve lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career. 

What You'll Do

In this role you will be a close operational partner to leaders within our Real World Evidence business unit and Medical and Scientific Organization, driving a critical portfolio of programs and projects that enhance our teams, products, and research. As a member of the Strategic Operations team, you will also work closely with other team members to build and evolve processes, teams, tools, and structures that drive continuity and value across Flatiron.

Examples of what you’ll do in one of these roles:

  • Own cross-functional strategic and operational projects to support key business objectives, in consultation with subject matter experts from across the company (e.g., process development/improvement, implementation of tooling, integration of new teams and structures)
  • Play point on organizing financial, strategic planning, and headcount management processes
  • Own overall coordination and project management for Flatiron’s portfolio early stage scientific research investments
  • Be a dedicated partner to one of our Real World Evidence business lines, working with business line leadership to drive efficiency, collaboration, and organizational health, and generally mature the operations of complex project delivery teams
  • Own high priority meetings, forums, and communications in partnership with senior leadership

The role will be crucial to cultivating collaboration across teams, and unlocking efficiency and organizational impact across Flatiron.

Who You Are

You’re a detail-oriented, resourceful thinker, experienced in strategy or business operations, who loves working cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.

 

  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • You have 4+ years of postgraduate work experience in startup, tech, healthcare, and/or consulting environments
  • You have strong organizational skills and sense of ownership with the ability to keep projects and processes on track, maintain accountability and relationships with very senior internal and external stakeholders
  • You are a strong and clear communicator (written and verbal)
  • You are experienced at managing projects that require broad engagement and buy-in from across the company
  • You are skilled at gracefully managing up, down, and across and have worked cross-functionally with very senior stakeholders
  • You are able to juggle multiple projects at once with varying levels of complexity
  • You are excited about working in an environment that requires constant adaptability and flexibility, and taking big ideas and shaping them into something high value for an organization
  • You are scrappy and intellectually curious

  • You have experience at a pharmaceutical/biotech company and/or with scientific research
