About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Program Management and Student Success is responsible for the successful delivery of the assigned portfolio of Northeastern signature cohort-based programs for first-year students, such as the N.U.in Program. The Assistant Director builds and maintains relationships with partner institutions to ensure that program goals and design are implemented as intended, with special emphasis on learner engagement, student services, and programming.

RESPONSIUBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Maintain expertise in the assigned portfolio of programs as it relates to day-to-day operations, learning environment and cultural nuances.
  • Contribute to strategizing innovative ways to promote programs to perspective students. Assist Enrollment Management and GEO leadership to ensure success of recruitment and yield strategies.
  • Guide and support students through the program application and course registration process, communicate students’ needs and concerns effectively to relevant stakeholders, as well as other domestic and international partner colleagues.
  • Maintain working knowledge of student visa requirements for countries in the assigned region. Support student visa process on a case-by-case level as needed in collaboration with GEO Visa and Immigration Specialist and the Office of General Counsel.
  • Lead, create, and participate, as assigned, in the development, coordination and execution of Pre-departure Orientations and on-site orientations. Collaborate extensively and effectively with international partners and colleagues within GEO and across campus to ensure students are fully prepared for the program.
  • Work closely with Student Affairs, Resident Life, and OGS on continuous improvement of the transition of N.U.in students to Boston.
  • Lead and guide Program Liaisons on developing re-entry programming post-program activities that stimulate “global learning at home”, intentional interactions with international and exchange students, as well as engagement with future program participants
  • Perform Quality Assurance measures with regards to customer service.
  • Participate in rotating Emergency Phone duties with other Boston-based GEO colleagues, while students are abroad. Triage and respond to emergency issues outside of office hours; escalate issues as appropriate to management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a Master’s degree plus two or more years of academic administrative experience or Bachelor’s plus three to five years of academic administrative experience required with focus on international education preferred.
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience managing part-time and full-time experienced and entry-level staff needed. Experience managing remote staff is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of student life, international travel, and the impact of crossing cultures on the student learning abroad is required.
  • Working knowledge of immigration and student visa regulations around the world required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to strategize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment are critical.
  • Must effectively represent the University to outside institutions and universities.
