Our clients Intermodal Operations team is seeking highly skilled and motivated Logistics Specialists to join this rapidly growing team. The team supports regions and shippers across the Supply Chain network and is tasked with ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of freight from vendors, fulfillment centers (FCs), rail yards and shipper hubs. In the case of disruptions, the Operations team is responsible for addressing the disruption, keeping all stakeholders informed and ensuring timely resolution of the issue. The Operations team is the first line of defense in understanding network trends, delays, dwells and other exceptions that impact the ability to deliver a world-class transportation product that serves its customers on time.Day to Day:- Communicate with customers (Carriers, Rail Road partners, Vendors/Suppliers) and stakeholders (Program Managers, Fulfillment Centers, Managed carrier programs)- Pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, SQL and/or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed- Understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results- Rectify disruptions, breaks in process, and follow standard work to make decisions that make sense based on available data- Provide real-time customer experience by working in a fast-paced operating environment- Systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams- Deliver follow-through on the resolutions to ensure the information is delivered- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed- Communicate both verbally and in writing as data and findings are critical to tracking trends and performance inefficienciesHard Skills• 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience• Previous experience in the Logistics spaceSoft Skills• Effective communication• Problem-solving• Time management• Attention to detailJob TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).Work Environment - this role is hybrid, training expectations and schedules outlined below2 weeks of training fully onsite2 days hybrid, 2 days in office40-hour workweek, Sunday – Wednesday OR Wednesday – Saturday, 6:30 am – 5 pm or 6 am – 4:30 pmAbout Aston Carter:Aston Carter provides world-class corporate talent solutions to thousands of clients across the globe.
