Our client is an international cosmetics company. They are seeking an Associate Formulations Chemist to join their team!Salary/Hourly Rate:$20/hr – $22/hr Depending on relevant recent industry experiencePosition Overview:This Associate Formulations Chemist position is within the Product Development and R&D laboratory. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to join a collaborative team testing a wide variety of products under cGMP/GLP regulations. This is Associate Formulator position is a full-time, dayshift role.Responsibilities of the Associate Formulations Chemist:• Making the various batches of cosmetic/personal care products (from scratch or improving existing formulas) and testing the formulation and stability of those batches.• Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out measurements.• Operating standard laboratory equipment, i.e., centrifuges, titrators, pH meters, rheometers, etc.• Performing routine tests on products such as measuring pH, specific gravity, and viscosity, as well as sensory testing of color, odor, appearance, and texture.• Keeping track of comprehensive and accurate test results.• Working on multiple development topics and projects as required.• Using formulation experience and scientific literature to develop, justify, and/or investigate formulation, processing techniques, and quality control protocols.Qualifications for the Associate Formulations Chemist:• Must have hands-on experience with laboratory instruments.• Must be comfortable working within an R&D laboratory setting and knowledgeable about the requirements of operating & maintaining an R&D laboratory.• Self-starter who can be effective with minimal supervision.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the company.• Writing skills consistent with the ability to prepare concise, timely, and accurate reports.Education Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biochemistry is required.Benefits:• 2 weeks paid vacation.• Medical, dental, and vision.• 401k plus match.As a woman-owned firm, we value diversity.
