Atropos Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical scientist to serve as Medical Director. This position is focused on ensuring the quality of our clinical consult service. To excel you will need to coordinate with and train our informatics clinicians (multi-specialty) to perform informatics consults with requesting providers as well as becoming an expert in our proprietary query language, TQL (training provided). In addition, the Medical Director will be responsible for communicating and coordinating with health system and life science stakeholders to ensure customer success.
Co-lead Atropos Health’s digital consult delivery to lifescience partners, physicians, clinical researchers, and other health leaders.
Working collaboratively with physicians and clinical researchers to address hypotheses across various disease and treatment areas leveraging the Atropos platform
Manage consulting clinical staff
Partner closely with Atropos’ Product team to provide client feedback and suggestions for new features and enhancements.
Present or co-present collaborative work at conferences and authoring articles within peer reviewed journals
Completed medical training as MD (medical school), Physician Assistant, or nurse practitioner
Ideal candidate would have completed at least 1 year of in hospital training (residency; active clinical practice is not required).
The ideal candidate has a quantitative background, including but not limited to clinical informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, applied math, physics, or engineering.
Knowledge of clinical terminology standards (ICD, SNOMED, LOINC, etc) strongly preferred
High degree of critical thinking and independent problem solving
Leadership track record of managing others in their day to day activities along with overseeing overall project goals
Ability to work with a team of highly skilled experts
Strong written and oral communication skills
A strong history of leading and collaborating on peer reviewed clinical research
Familiarity with manipulating and analyzing data in SQL, Python, or R
At least 1 year of experience doing EHR-based research
Prior history in consulting preferred
The Medical Director reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer, Saurabh Gombar.
