Description

Abbyson’s Internal Auditor will interact cross-functionally with the Accounting and Operations Teams, collaborating to obtain, analyze and evaluate necessary accounting documentation to identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost saving strategies. Using sound judgment, this person is expected to assess risk management in evaluating the organization’s accounting processes, reporting findings to management regarding possible improvements and corrections.


However, the Auditor acts independent from Accounting & Operations, and holds these teams accountable with regards to budgets and goals. The main function of our Auditor is to find mistakes in invoices & payables, and create cost-saving opportunities for the company.

Essential Functions

  • Review, audit and analyze key financial data.
  • Prepare financial reports on a determined schedule.
  • Develop internal audit scope and audit plans working collaboratively with management.
  • Identify loopholes and share risk aversion methods and cost savings
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results and document process.
  • Present financial reports and estimates to decision makers within the organization.
  • Provide solutions to accounting and finance issues as they arise.
  • Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities.
  • Act as the “voice-of-reason” to ensure good financial decisions are made in the best interest of the company.
  • Reconcile internal transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
  • Review and analyze current and past financial performance and identify trends.
  • Develop and implement appropriate tactics for the pricing area to achieve agreed targets and objectives.
  • Audit inbound and outbound freight Invoices including coordinating auditing of the invoices with 3rd party audit firm to ensure that billed rates match contracted rates.
  • Publish weekly, monthly, yearly inbound and outbound freight cost reports including historical costs as well as future projections.
  • Monitor/measure and report performance of programs/contracts to management.
  • Some ad hoc project work and/or reporting may be required.


Qualifications

  • MBA in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Consumer Goods industry preferred.
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in internal auditing or senior auditor role
  • Advanced in MS Excel, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to consistently and accurately manipulate large amounts of data to compile detailed and clear reports.
