Consultant, Infrastructure Advisory

Want to bring ideas to life?

You’re in the right place. We’ve been a leading design, engineering and advisory company for decades. So why choose Aurecon? It really comes down to one, crucial question: what kind of world do you want to create for the next generation? Truth is, the decisions being made right now will determine the future of everything – from the local community to the sustainability of our clients’ businesses – to the entire planet. One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for?

Our Infrastructure Advisory team is at the front end of decision making and investment shaping with our clients. If you are a management consultant or infrastructure advisor looking for a more authentic, grounded and balanced career step at an established brand with a future focus, Aurecon is the place to do it. Just ask many of our team who have made that leap.

How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

Our Perth Infrastructure Advisory business is currently seeking team members to join in key roles to continue our rapid growth and expansion. You’ll be part of a close-knit team who are early on in the growth journey, thereby providing huge career growth opportunities - through direct exposure to clients and working intimately with our senior leaders. You’ll also work within a nationally integrated team of highly skilled specialists.

In this role you will play an integral part in the delivery of business cases, economic and financial analysis, provision of high-quality strategic advice, as well as contribute to the growth of the business and winning work efforts.

You will be part of a diverse team who are experienced and passionate about providing ‘advice that matters’ across the infrastructure asset lifecycle, advising on strategies and investment decisions that drive value and proactively respond to disruptive change.

Through a deep understanding of their challenges, you will work with our clients to co-create innovate solutions that help to shape tomorrow's WA and Australia. It’s the combination of strategic expertise and depth of technical knowledge of our people that really sets us apart.

What will you do?

  • Business Case Development: Undertake comprehensive analysis of potential infrastructure investment opportunities, assessing their viability via business case frameworks, investment logic mapping and feasibility studies.

  • Economic & Financial Modelling: Develop cost-benefit analysis and financial models to evaluate investment scenarios, considering factors such as economic benefit quantification and monetisation, cash flows, return on investment, and project timelines.

  • Business Development: Work closely with our senior team to develop proposals, respond to tenders and manage the work winning process.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions, identifying potential risks and opportunities for clients and their portfolios.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their business and assets, and provide guidance and updates as the markets in which our clients operate evolve.

  • Collaboration: Work with our internal teams, to bring together our design, engineering and advisory capabilities in the delivery of seamless client experiences.

  • Industry Networking: Attend industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to expand professional networks, share knowledge, and stay informed about infrastructure investment trends.

What can you bring to the team?

You’ll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future.

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.

Alongside your industry experience in similar management consulting, engineering consulting, client-side or equivalent roles, you’ll also have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, law, engineering or a related field.

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in areas similar to the work of our infrastructure investment advisory capabilities, primarily business case development.

  • Knowledge of, and experience working in, key infrastructure sectors such as transport, energy, water, and social infrastructure, along with an understanding of regulatory frameworks. Experience in energy or resources sectors will be valued.

  • Experience in economic and financial modelling, and standard financial analysis tools.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound strategic and commercial recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build, foster and evolve trusted relationships with clients and internal teams.

  • Familiarity with WA and national infrastructure market dynamics, guidelines, methodologies and processes.

  • Knowledge of all phases of a project's life cycle and particularly initiation, appraisal and business case stages.

  • Structured and strategic problem solving approach backed by excellent written and verbal communication skills.

How will your future be shaped by us?

Joining Aurecon means being part of an award-winning business at the edge of innovation and sustainability.
