We are hiring a Temporary Assistant Merchant to join our Merchandising team. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Product Strategy and Merchandising and takes Away further by supporting the execution of merchandise strategy aligned to strategic corporate growth priorities.
You’ll work cross-functionally to support the end-to-end product life cycle and go-to-market process, bringing innovative products that meet our customers’ unique travel needs to life, while being true to the Away brand vision
You’ll support the reporting of the business: pulling data & performing analysis on a weekly, monthly, & quarterly basis; including new launch performance recaps, ad hoc sales history, hindsight, etc.
You’ll manage daily Merchandising responsibilities including: accurately building, editing, and maintaining product roadmaps, product hierarchy, visual line plans, and pricing matrix; communicating necessary information to Cross-Functional teams in a timely manner
You’ll conduct competitive research on the retail landscape, specifically around pricing, style, and new launches
You’ll leverage competitive analysis and consumer-led data to translate market trends and consumer needs into actionable product & merchandising direction, taking into consideration geography-based customer preferences and channel-specific needs
You’ll support the GTM Milestone process grounded in driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver a best-in-class omni-channel customer experience: maintaining all necessary resources & decks, and managing samples in preparation of and for major meetings
You’ll stay abreast of planned promotional activities and update pricing in our systems on proper timelines
You’ll liaise with allocation, transportation, and production teams to track product for launches
You’ll maintain all product management systems and files, making updates whenever there is a change to the line
You’ll build out and maintain sku count trackers on a quarterly basis
You have previous experience in a Merchandising role
You’re proficient in Google Workspace, Excel, Powerpoint, Airtable & Slack
You're a strategic thinker with astute analytical capabilities
You’re extremely organized, detail oriented, and adept at creating and sticking to timelines and driving best practices around process
You’re passionate for product, the competitive landscape, and demonstrate considerable retail acumen
You’re a thoughtful communicator and know how to articulate priorities, as well as drive clarification for cross-functional partners
You’re a self-starter with an ability to solve problems and seek new information
You’re a team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
You’re creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand
Agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment

Our total rewards are inclusive of both compensation and benefits. What we offer within a salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. Salary and benefit offerings are reviewed during phone screenings to ensure alignment.
Hourly Rate: $30.00

This is a hybrid role that comes into our Soho, NYC office twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The working hours are 9am-6pm ET.
